Back bulb of orchid Stanhopea connata.
This species of orchid grows in Columbia and Peru at an elevation of 1000 to 2000 m.
NB! Last image is of a plant the back bulb was taken from. It is not the plant itself you will receive, but a single back bulb.
Propagation of orchids from back bulbs is a simple and straightforward procedure but requires a lot of patience as bulbs can take months before new growth will emerge. The bulb needs to be planted in a very well draining potting medium (e.g. perlite, coco chips) and be kept only very lightly moist to almost dry. A healthy back bulb is firm to the touch and of green coloration.
