Masdevallia veitchiana

Masdevallia veitchiana is a species of orchid native to Peru. It is a cold to cool-growing orchid that prefers a temperature range of 5-25ºC. It will tolerate higher temperatures up to 30ºC, as long as it gets to cool down at night. Light should be bright to medium bright indirect, no direct midday sun. They need higher humidity within 60-80%, and the substrate should not dry out completely. It is best to plant these orchids into wire or net baskets where the bottom and the sides are open to the air, since Masdevallias like to have air movement around their roots.
